Service

degenerates is a private messaging app built on Matrix. The hosted service is provided for private messaging and prelaunch beta testing.

Acceptable Use

You are responsible for your account activity and the content you choose to send. Do not use degenerates to harass, threaten, abuse, spam, exploit, infringe rights, distribute malware, or violate applicable law.

Accounts

Accounts use passkeys and server-generated Matrix IDs. Keep access to your passkey-protected device secure. Prelaunch beta accounts may be reset before public launch.

Privacy And Encryption Limitations

The privacy policy explains what data is processed to operate the service. Encrypted key backup is not enabled in V1. User-facing device verification is not enabled in this beta. Do not rely on degenerates as proof of a contact's real-world identity.

Availability

The service is provided as-is during beta. We may change, suspend, or discontinue beta access while the product is being prepared for launch.
